FITTING FOR TWO

One bed, two separate sleep profiles

How Somni handles two sleepers without averaging away different support needs, pressure concerns and comfort preferences.

Keep both people visible

Choose two sleepers at the start of the Somni quiz. Each person keeps their own answers and FitGrid point. Differences in weight, usual position, pressure concerns and preferred surface feel should remain visible, even when you plan to buy one mattress.

A midpoint between two coordinates is not evidence that a bed suits either person. In the current pilot, a shared recommendation uses the lower individual fit score so that one person’s stronger match does not hide the other’s weaker match. This remains an unvalidated fitting heuristic, not a guarantee.

Turn differences into a test plan

Choose a small set of beds where both people can compare their own priorities. One person may focus on shoulder cushioning while the other checks turning and support. Record those observations separately, then test partner movement together.

If compromises remain uncomfortable, ask the retailer which split comfort or split size options actually exist and whether the intended frame, bedding and adjustable base are compatible. Somni does not assume any model offers a split option.

A shared assessment is not blanket permission

Some pressure-mapping assessments include two sleepers in one session. The store must still confirm the names and assessment before a result is shared. A first name and a recent time window are matching hints, not proof of ownership.

Keep both people informed about what is stored or shared. Sharing a fitting summary with a retailer is a separate choice from completing the quiz or importing answers from another AI.
