THE SOMNI APPROACH
Understand your Somni FitGrid
How Somni separates support, pressure relief and cooling—and why a quiz estimate is a starting point for an in-store fitting.
Your answers. A clearer place to start.
Finish your sleep profile to reveal your FitGrid and mattresses in your fitting range. Here’s an illustration of what that looks like.
Estimated pressure relief and support. How we score
Only mattress plots inside the example fitting radius are shown.
Illustration only—not your results or actual product recommendations.
Your personal plot stays hidden while you answer. Review your completed profile, then see your own results.
Find my own fitTwo needs, one starting point
Somni Fit is a mattress discovery and referral platform owned by Omniguild LLC. The quiz turns confirmed answers about your sleep position, weight, pressure concerns and preferences into an estimated starting point for trying mattresses. It is shopping guidance, not a diagnosis, body scan or promise of better sleep.
The FitGrid uses two independent 0–5 axes. Support demand increases toward the left: 5 is at the left edge and 0 at the right. Pressure-relief need increases upward: 0 is at the bottom and 5 at the top. A person can need substantial support and substantial cushioning at the same time. The quiz uses a smooth weight curve through 50 lb at 0.0, 177 lb at 2.5, 200 lb at 3.0 and 350 lb at 5.0. All sleepers use the same curve, and weights above 350 lb remain at 5.0. These are Somni’s chosen fitting references, not a physiological validation or mattress weight-capacity rating. Imported measured coordinates keep their source values.
Surface firmness is a different question
Firm, medium and plush describe a surface feel. They do not independently establish how a mattress supports your body or redistributes pressure. In Somni, a preference for a firmer surface is kept distinct from the support coordinate. A firm label alone cannot identify the best mattress for a heavier sleeper.
Cooling is a separate 0–5 displayed characteristic, not a third direction on the FitGrid. A cooling cover claim does not prove all-night temperature performance. Compare what was measured with what was inferred from a product description.
An estimate and a measurement stay separate
The account-free quiz estimates needs from your answers. An authorized in-store pressure-mapping assessment can add measured information when the store has a working connection and confirms the assessment belongs to you. Not every store is connected.
A pressure map describes an assessment under specific conditions. Somni does not claim its quiz coordinates are numerically equivalent to a REVEAL XSENSOR measurement, nor that a single map predicts long-term comfort. The current model still needs outcome-based validation.
What the fit score can tell you
The pilot ranks characterized mattresses by compatibility with the estimated profile and stated preferences. Fit score, completeness of your answers and quality of product evidence are different things. A high fit score is not a satisfaction probability or a universal mattress rating.
Some catalog characteristics are provisional interpretations of public specifications. Other products have no calibrated fit data and remain unscored. Public model pages deliberately omit personalized scores.
- Review uncertain answers before relying on a shortlist.
- Try the exact model and comfort version, in your usual positions.
- Use your own experience and the store’s confirmed policies before buying.
